There's something really wonderful about the first rehearsal for a new gig. Getting together with people you get on with, a bit of friendly chat, you plug everything in and WOW..you can still play, and the magic is still there.

A new rehearsal also means new songs. We have one brand new one this time, 'Centrafugel Bugle' which is one of Liam's, that we originally worked up in January. The delay to 'Osbert Scoon' also means with no new album to promote, we can dip into our back catalogue and revisit some of our old classics. 'Noriega' and 'Chuck's Party' are both getting a run out this time. So these 3 were really fresh and exciting, and it's great hearing them come together through the rehearsal, until, even at the end of rehearsal one (with no keyboardist or trumpet player present) the songs are sounding really good

After all the 'Osbert Scoon' stresses and Garageband work (which I'll doubtless blog about later), it was great to just get back to strapping on a guitar and kicking out the jams!
